Masters of their game!

Like the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cleveland Browns are too a professional American football team and that too based in the same state of Ohio. They play in the AFC North division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The Cleveland Browns began their journey in 1946 as a member of the All America Football Conference. Later it joined the National Football League in 1950. The man who started Cleveland Browns was a businessman called Arthur B "Mickey" McBride. After buying the franchise, Arthur McBride took on Paul Brown as the head coach, general manager as well as the vice-president of the Cleveland Browns. The club then conducted a team naming contest in 1945 and most people wanted Browns as the name because of the contribution of Paul Browns. In the beginning Brown was not to happy with using his own name but later he agreed.

The team that Paul Brown managed to assemble was one of the best that anyone had ever seen. It won all the four championships of the All American Football Conference. In 1948, they became the first team in the history of professional football. Their winning streak extended to 29 games including 18 straight wins, and 2 ties. During the four years of the AAFC, the Browns lost only four games!

After the AAFC shut down and Browns joined the National Football League, the first game that they played was against champions Philadelphia Eagles. They routed the champions and came up with a scorching 35-10 win! In 1953, the Browns won 11 games in a row and then lost to the Eagles in the last week of the season. In 1961, Art Modell purchased the Browns from David Jones who in turn had bought it from McBride in 1953. Soon, conflict started surfacing between Paul Brown and Art Modell. When the Browns finished with a 7-6-1 record in 1962, Modell made a drastic move and fired Paul Brown. He was replaced with Blanton Collier.

The Browns do not have a logo on their helmets and are the only NFL team not to have it so. In the beginning the team had white leather helmets from which they shifted to orange plastic shell helmets. The Cleveland Browns have the fourth largest number of players in the Pro Football Hall of Fame with a total of sixteen of them players. The first Brown to be brought in was Otto Graham in 1965 and the most recent inductee is Gene Hickerson, in 2007. The current owner is Randy Lerner and the President is Mike Keenan. their head coach is now Eric Mangini. The Browns tickets are the cheapest ones in AFC North division teams. They offer a ticket which is priced at $32, which is still the lowest priced ticket among the AFC North teams.
