They routed the champions and came up with a scorching 35-10 win! In 1953, the Browns won 11 games in a row and then lost to the Eagles in the last week of the season. In 1961, Art Modell purchased the Browns from David Jones who in turn had bought it from McBride in 1953. Soon, conflict started surfacing between Paul Brown and Art Modell. When the Browns finished with a 7-6-1 record in 1962, Modell made a drastic move and fired Paul Brown. He was replaced with Blanton Collier.

The Browns do not have a logo on their helmets and are the only NFL team not to have it so. In the beginning the team had white leather helmets from which they shifted to orange plastic shell helmets. The Cleveland Browns have the fourth largest number of players in the Pro Football Hall of Fame with a total of sixteen of them players. The first Brown to be brought in was Otto Graham in 1965 and the most recent inductee is Gene Hickerson, in 2007.
