Kiss: The Band that Rocked the World

Kiss is a band all for excitement. Their first live album was released in September of 1975. This is the “Alive!” album that made them one of the most popular acts in 70’s. Their first official album however, is simply entitled “Kiss”. It was a studio album recorded and released in 1974. Then they started to perform in several concerts and events wearing their peculiar costumes and weird make-ups. Their popularity was so intense during that time that they were able to save a concert venue, Casablanca, from total bankruptcy.

Kiss was able to create a total of 19 studio albums and 8 live albums. There were also 18 compilation albums created under their name. From these, Kiss was able to produce 24 gold albums and had sold more than 19 million copies in the United States alone. Worldwide, they were able to sell over the 80 million mark.

However, Kiss has disbanded in 1982 when Criss and Frehley left the group. They said that they did so due to creative differences with the band. However, Kiss was reunited in 1996. The group performed again with the band’s original lineup and songs from 1996 to 1997. But after this series of reunion concerts, Criss and Frehley left the group again and were replaced by Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer. Stanley and Simmons, the two founding members, were the only ones that remained in the group. Kiss is still performing and making albums to this day.

Right now, Kiss is planning on a concert series that will kick off in September. It will run until December and will feature both the Kiss classics and the newer cuts in the Sonic Boom album. The anticipation for this concert is so great that the 1970’s fans of the group are falling in line to get hold of their hot concert tickets.
